My mom is a great cook, her Shanghainese cooking is the best in Hong Kong. Last week, we had our Mid-Autumn Festival dinner, with Aunt and Uncle. It was great to see them again after two years (?). There were many dishes that I love, but the highlight of the dinner is definitely the pork roast.
To give you an idea, the pork roast was even bigger than my hedgehog. I think he was pretty scared of the size of it. Everyone was slurping the fatty skin... -_-'... I am not a big fan, but I like putting the sauce in my rice, sweet and salty at the same time. It is actually the best bit of the dish! Other dishes included - Smoked Chicken (my favorite), Prawns in tomato sauce, Sea cucumber and goose feet, cucumber and jellyfish (my favorite), Abalone on lettuce, Shark Fin Chicken Soup, and Shanghainese Beef (Kaz's favorite).
