Dinner...at Shanghai Garden

It's Winter Solstice on Chinese calendar tonight, so Vasco followed Alice, Phil and Kaz to Granny's place for a big dinner. Chinese do take this day very seriously. Everyone spends time with their family to enjoy a meal together. These were the dishes:
  1. Deep fried garoupa in sweet and sour sauce, Shanghainese-style;
  2. Tiger prawns in coconut sauce;
  3. Tea smoked chicken;
  4. Tofu and vegetable in preserved bean sauce (南乳);
  5. Chinese vegetable with assorted mushrooms;
  6. Bean shoots with abalone;
  7. Beef tenderloin;
  8. Pork in special sweet sauce;
  9. Chicken soup with shark bone, ham and fish maw;
  10. Crunchy twist in sesame and coconut sugar.
Vasco started off with a glass of Sparkling Shiraz and ended up with champagne and chocolate...now, Vasco went to bed with a full and happy tummy. Shanghai Garden is the best restaurant on earth.
