Phil took Vasco to Kowloon City today! Kowloon City is home to Vasco's and Alice's favorite restaurant, 清真牛肉館, an Islamic restaurant. Alice has been visiting that restaurant since she was a little girl. It is not a fancy restaurant, but the queue to get in is always amazing. The restaurant even prepares some stools for their waiting customers. Vasco had to take a seat before he could get into the restaurant. Oh, look...those guys are trying to cut in front of Vasco!
And then, Vasco, Alice and Phil had to share a big table with four other groups of customers. We all came for the same things: their beef cakes!!!!!!!!!!!
Their beef cakes are the best in the world! Crunchy on the outside, with a really really juicy beef patty inside, and the sauce inside can burn your tongue! But beef cake is the reason why everyone wants to come back again and again.
Phil also had his favorite curry egg with rice. The curry there is always perfect! Not too spicy, not too hot and had a great flavor! Vasco doesn't like Japanese curry because it always taste a bit yucky of sweetness. The best thing is the egg. The chef always took the effort to make the edge of that fried egg really crispy. It goes perfectly with curry! Vasco is a curry lover...and the curry that tastes almost like Alice's mom's cooking! Vasco has to be pulled back, otherwise his nose will be all stained!
After stuffing his tummy with beef cakes and curry eggs, Phil demanded his sweet soup next door. It is a traditional Chiu Chow sweet restaurant. Phil ordered a bowl of everything...lotus seed, barley, white fugus and dried persimmon. Alice and Vasco shared their bowl of bean curd sheet and barley. Vasco couldn't eat anymore!
So...he went to a toy shop! A local variety, not your everyday ToyR'Us!!! He was playing hide and seek in this picture, it took Alice a while to get him to go home.
Of cousre, no trip to Kowloon City is complete without visiting the Turkish sweet shop. Now, you can see Vasco enjoying his afternoon snack, a sweet pear!
Next time, Vasco will visit another restaurant in Kowloon City, a Thai!
